Lacrosse in Belgium
Belgium has been part of the European Lacrosse Federation since 2009, running 12 active clubs across Flanders and Wallonia and hosting the flagship ELF Easter Tournament in Westerlo each year.
The Belgium Lacrosse Scene
Belgium joined the European Lacrosse Federation in 2009, establishing itself as a consistent presence in the continental lacrosse community. The national programme operates across both Flemish and Francophone regions, with 12 active clubs spread throughout the country and a growing competitive calendar that connects Belgian players to the wider European circuit.
The flagship moment in the Belgian lacrosse year is the ELF Easter Tournament, held annually in Westerlo. It is one of the longest-running club-level international events on the ELF calendar and draws clubs from across Europe each spring. Belgium also participates in the Ken Galluccio Cup, the ELF’s official club championship, placing Belgian clubs in competition at the highest European level.
With 12 clubs active across Flanders and Wallonia, Belgium’s structure reflects its broader cultural geography. The dual-community setup brings both French-speaking and Dutch-speaking players into a single national federation, and the country’s central location in Western Europe makes it a natural Benelux hub for lacrosse development. Belgium confirmed participation in the 2025 European Championship.
