Lacrosse in Poland
Poland has become European lacrosse's infrastructure nation. Wrocław hosted the 2025 European Championship, the 2022 Euros and the 2024 U20 Euros, and has been awarded the 2026–27 World Lacrosse Division II Championships. Hosting before dominance — and doing it at world-class scale.
The Polish Lacrosse Scene
Poland's lacrosse story is strategic. The first Polish club, Poznań Hussars, was founded in December 2007. Polska Federacja Lacrosse (PFL) joined the European Lacrosse Federation in 2010. From there, the Polish approach has been unusually clear: invest in infrastructure before competing for dominance.
That strategy is now visible across the calendar. Wrocław hosted the 2022 European Championship, the 2024 U20 European Championship, and in July 2025 brought together 24 nations from 9 to 19 July for the senior European Championship — the largest European lacrosse event of the year.
World Lacrosse then awarded Poland the 2026–27 Men's and Women's Division II Championships, also in Wrocław. Three major international events in four years, a fourth already confirmed — Wrocław is now a premier European lacrosse venue, and Poland the federation behind it.
Alongside the hosting track, the Poland Lacrosse Foundation operates in North America to fundraise and recruit Polish-heritage players into the national programme — a quiet but important structural asset for a federation still growing its domestic base.

Why Follow Poland?
Wrocław is European lacrosse's host city
Three European-level tournaments in four years — 2022 EC, 2024 U20 EC, 2025 EC (24 nations) — plus the 2026–27 World Lacrosse Division II Championships. Very few European cities carry that calendar.
Infrastructure-first strategy
Poland is choosing hosting, logistics and event quality as its growth lever before chasing podium results. That reads differently when you're looking at the European lacrosse map as a media platform.
Diaspora pipeline
The Poland Lacrosse Foundation in North America is a rare structural asset: ongoing fundraising, heritage-player recruitment, and a direct link between the Polish scene and the North American talent pool.
World Championship host 2026–27
A World Lacrosse Division II Championship is not a friendly — it's a World Championship track. Poland will run two of them back-to-back (men's and women's) in Wrocław. That is a working European lacrosse capital.
